I work in full-time ministry with adult asylum seekers and immigrants here in the United States.  I know God can work despite me, but I really desire to be a faithful witness who is able to clearly communicate spiritual truths with my friends. 

After taking this course, I’ve grown in how to share stories from the Bible, and answer questions in ways that help continue, rather than shut down the conversation. The circle of influence activity gave me the desire to be more intentional about connecting friends from other networks into relationships with my international friends. I also had the confidence to give an open invitation for a family I'm friends with to study the Bible with me!

I also used Jeannie Marie’s strategy for talking about the Trinity with Muslims and it felt like it resonated. I've been able to share a few Bible stories that really spoke to my friends fears of jin too, as she modeled. 

I liked the design of the course in small chunks, along with a way to directly reflect/bring your own experiences into the content through the worksheets. I think this is a well-done self-study course that follows adult learning principles. I would encourage you to learn from Jeannie Marie because she has real-world experience in all that she is teaching, and the course is not only about knowledge, but practical application, which is so important!

This was an excellent learning experience for me; insightful, positive, and applicable in many ways. I took pages of notes along the way, and look forward to sharing ideas with Mission Committee colleagues at my church. 

I was looking for strategies for getting my suburban congregation out of its comfort zone (and Covid cocoon); opening up dialog regarding immigrant and refugee conditions in the U.S.; engaging colleagues in outreach opportunities within our metropolitan area and beyond; and encouraging our congregation to take our missional intentions seriously.

After taking the course, I’m equipped with so much new information -- immediately applicable. It energized me with more of a "can do" feeling. My wife appreciated  insights shared from various lessons, as did colleagues at church who knew about the course.

The study also enabled me to look back at years of mission work in East Africa and reconsider motivations (and mistakes). I found myself reflecting back on past mission experiences as much as looking ahead to new ones.

By the end the course, I identified and connected with strategic groups in the community to partner with; invited an East African family to dinner; and planned a short-term trip with my Mission Committee to immigrants nearby.

Jeannie Marie is non-threatening with her conversational approach to course material, and her underlying faith is one of hope and encouragement. I do hope to generate a book study soon with interested folks at church.

I finally finished all the modules today. You really cleared up all the questions I had in the early modules related to Islam in that bonus module! Well done! I can now confidently talk to Muslims about Isa al Masih and tell them boldly that He is for Muslims too. Thank you for imparting and empowering this confidence in us!

Also, (after a FB LIVE Q&A), I needed this encouragement to keep going and bringing others along. And then I checked my email and found a request from a refugee resettlement organization asking me if I would like to interview for volunteer opportunities. That was a lead from the beginning modules of this class! I said yes (and now he is volunteering there).

The course is very practical and equipping for cross cultural engagements with a wonderful path, and a resourceful trainer.

The instruction is simple and easy to understand and follow.

The blends of the course format of the short brief, download .pdf guides, and the video made the course enjoyable.

Before the course I would only think of traveling to other nations but after the Course my mindset has changed because I discovered that there are many internationals in my country, so I don't need to wait until I move.

During the Course, I found people from other countries, prayer walked my area, and made information gathering calls to my friends living near the resettled refugee camps and Universities in my region.

I have now engaged in spiritual conversations and shared Bible stories and studied the Bible with some two Muslims. I feel equipped now to engage any international with the Gospel. My approach now is very welcoming and attention is being realized from the internationals.

Module Three stood out for me in that it helps to deal with the messes created by the earlier missionaries who offered western cultures other than only Jesus.
